You can simply tell us or explain it; like what it was (or is) how it happened, and so on. The most painful thing I've ever done was be kicked by my friend Jonelle. We were just playing around, then I felt like my leg snapped in half and was gushing blood. Actually, all it was was a huge red mark. Yeah, whatever, I'm a sissy... but now I try not to 'play' kick my friends.
P.S.---If you think I'm stupid for 'play kicking' my friends, what else is there to do in lunch after you eat and sit there for minutes?

Last december i was hit by a car - didnt pass out (surprisingly) and had to take all the pain waiting for surgery for more than 7 hours screaming louder than i thought i ever could (docs gave morphine but it didnt do anything and they dont give a lot) -had my leg shattered (8 fractures) and they didnt even know in the beginning if they can save it. Had 2 surgeries and one more to come.

Pain...hmmm...my worst pains were wrecking a motorcycle at 75 mph, hitting the pavement and losing the skin on a little less than half my body. That didn't hurt near as bad as when they brushed all the asphault out of the wounds...and yes that is exactly how they do it. For many months I looked like a mummy on halloween. But yes, I still ride motorcycles.

The worst things I've seen I cannot project into your mind because I was an ER medic in Afghanistan. The smells that never leave your mind, the noises and screams. Worst I ever saw was beyond any horror writers imaginations. I will give you a little taste. A lady of 23 y/o came in, her whole face had been burnt off (no ears, eyelids, lips, cheeks you get the picture) and she was still alive. She couldn't talk, but she could scream in pain, and morphine wasn't even strong enough. So remember, things we call pain dont compare to what some people have to go through...and that lady lived like that for almost a month...

I have had about a dozen or so knee surgeries, but the worst pain has been over the past few months. After a surgery in September I had internal bleeding in the joint causing SEVERE pain and redness and swelling. It kept getting worse and worse and eventually I could not bend my leg at all. I was rushed to the ER where the doctor drained 100 cc's of blood form my knee and a few days later it happened again. In case you don't know how much that is, for a typical adult male who may have a problem like this, about 30 cc's of blood might be taken out and I am a small framed chick. I was in so much pain and no pain medication was helping at all, so eventually they just knocked me out. Oddly enough the night I was at the ER there was a woman in the bed next to me who was there for the same problem and she told me she had 3 kids and labor was nothing compared to what we were both going through. This happened last September and to this day, my knee is still recovering. I have been out of work on disability, going to physical therapy, had 2 additional surgeries and my leg is still swollen and does not bend all the way. It SUCKS!

Crohn's Disease has been the most painful thing I have ever been through.. I have had a kidney stone for a week and never shed a tear, knocked my front teeth out and had them but back in the socket with no numbing or pain med, broke my arm, cts, cyst on my ovaries, and i think that is the worst things i have been through.. Hands down Crohns was the worst.. I have suffered for about 3 years now without the hope of a normal life anytime soon..

The most physical pain was after my c-section. I woke up in ICU with so many tubes coming out of me I couldn't move. The pain was awful for about a week. I think it was worse because I couldn't hold my baby for over a week until I was out of ICU.

The worst pain that wasn't physical would be each time one of my girls have been hurt. Seeing them get stitches broke my heart. Their little lips would shake and when I seen those little tears floating down their face I would just break down. To be honest, seeing them hurt is much more painful than anything I've ever gone through.

My mom she had a brainstroke; and doctors didn´t know what was happening to her, it lasted more than a week to see what she had; they had to take medula from her back and she said it was so painful.

She was in treatment for a yer, she spent 6 months of her life lying in a hospital bed with no permission to move not even going to the bathroom; studies showed she had an aneurism in her head and could explode in anytime with any movement she could make.

She had a brain surgery a yaer after to heal the aneurism.
I know thank God, that she is with me, just the way she used to be.

I don´t know if it is a painful story or not but it is a recovery story for love, I have a 8 years little brother and I bet that´s all my mom had in mind to heal.

In my case I had to be mom housekeeper worker and student but I know it was vacation campaired to her pain.

Good luck! ;D

The most painful thing for me was watching my 2 kids recover from their car accidents. I would have gladly switched places with them so they wouldn't suffer.
When my son was 24 he was hit head-on on the highway. A drunk driver crossed the centre line & hit him. This happened at 6:30 in the morning on his way to work. He got a bad concussion, glass all embedded in the back of his head. Serious leg injuries, including a broken femur & totally wrecked knee. He had complication after complication and has had 6 surgeries. He is just going back to work next week. His accident was Aug/04
In Nov/05 my daughter, who was 24 at the time was thrown from the car when it rolled. She had a severe skull fracture, a TBI, broken neck in 2 places, broken pelvis in 2 places, broken & separated ribs, knee damage, internal bleeding from torn spleen, and a ton of other injuries.

I shattered a heel bone in about 25+ places once. The pain was so bad that if they gave me any more opiates they would have had to breathe for me. Until I finally found a great orthopedic surgeon to properly repair it, I could ony walk short distances and I lived either in pain or on pain killers .Most days I chose the pain bc I didn't want to have to deal with the opiate addiction problem later on
