I used to make Christmas tree balls from egg shells. Blow the egg out (carefully make a small hole in the small end and a slightly smaller hole in the big end. blow out the insides into a dish. You can still use them for scrambled eggs or an omelet.) Rinse the shell carefully inside and out. Draw a pattern on the shell - a Christmas tree, wreath, pictures copied from Christmas cards, etc. You can use poster paint but I prefer model paint like they use for model cars. Or acryilics or oils will work too. If you used a thin or fragile paint you will want to spray the shells with a clear epoxy to keep the paint on and give it a bit more strength. run a thread or ribbon or yarn throught he egg to hang it from the tree. Glue a large sequin to the top and bottom for a more finished look. I did it big side up. You can put on lots of sequins, jewels, etc. instead of a painted design. You can also use duck egge or ostrich eggs or even fake eggs like the ones that Legg's stockings used to come in. They're much bigger and stronger. With them, you can also glue the two ends together then cut it in half, length ways and fill the bottom with plaster for a ground surface an make a Nativity scene. You can even hinge the egg and close it when waiting for Christmas. My kids loved it. I gave one to my Mom and she loved hers too. You can make faux tiffany eggs that can be very appealing. Just a few thoughts. Hope you like them. Oh, they do beautiful Easter eggs from Yugoslavia i think. There is a book in the library I'm sure you'll be able to find. Good luck.

I don't know if this is crafty or not but you can make a practical joke with it.
1. Poke a hole in the egg with a needle or toothpick but not until it breaks.
2.Take the contents of the egg and pour it out.
3. You can either let it be or fill something else inside like water or syrup.
4. Cover the hole with some glue or something else and tell someone to crack it open.
5.TADAAAAA!!!!
6.The surprise of their life!!!
P.S: Don't make them suspicious when you ask them to crack it open.

Egg candles. Fill each half with melted wax and a wick and when set, paint the outside. Be sure to keep the egg carton to use as candle holders or just place them into egg cups. They make great gifts for family, friends, teachers. etc

yess!! A really cool activity for easter...
1.) draw a face, cartoon, flower, neat design, ect... on an egg.
2.) Poke a small hole on one side and a larger (but not like huge) hole on the other side.
3.) blow through the small hole and all the egg stuff will fall out the other side (so make sure you do it over the sink or over news paper!)
4.) then you have this cool decorated egg with nothing in it! you can make an ornoment out of it, or just it there and stare at it. lol. But its fun to blow the egg stuff out, and then have a cool egg.
((((also, you can used colored crushed shells, and mix them up with glitter and like shake it up in a baby food jar, then it makes a cool pop out glitter for art and crafts.))))
-have fun!

egg shell mosaic...
Paint eggs b4 breaking into tiny pieces then use for mosaic....
Here's How:
Save all the shells you peel off your Easter eggs!
Break the colored egg shells into small enough pieces so that they are fairly flat.
Draw a design on a dark piece of posterboard.
Working in small sections, use a cotton swab or an old paint brush to liberally spread glue onto your design.
Stick the egg shell pieces, colored side up, onto the glue.
Continue with step 4 and 5 until your design is completely filled in with egg shells.
Set your mosaic aside to dry completely.

My kids used to make hatching chicks with them.
This was done by gluing a colored, two inch pom pom ball into a clean, but cracked egg shell. The pom pom was then decorated with googly eyes and a tiny beak nose.

fill with dirt and plant grass seed; draw/paint faces on them and let the grass be hair for a little eggman. A project fun for kids; not sure what you were aiming for.
