Actually because it has to weigh at least 10 lbs, it will weight slightly more than 10 lbs in order to be sold. usually about a quarter of a pound over due to the fact there is little to no way to get some thing like potatoes to add up exactly to 10 lbs.

On earth, 10 pounds,,in space a whole lot less
A 10 pound sack of potatoes today will not weigh that much 3 days from now..some moisture will be lost..so you'll have to throw in another potato,,probably cut in two pieces..or you'll go over the 10 pounds..
