I have a 2000 Silverado pickup. I live on a farm and it gets a lil dirty but not much, Its probably the cleanest farm truck you will ever see. I Wash it once a week. Wax it atleast every other week. I live in the midwest so there is snow in the winter and humidity in the summer. I use Meguiars wax and deep crystal car wash.

your doing right with the schedule you keep on it now,it doesn't hurt one to wax it every two weeks, you can go as long as a month and not worry about it,but every two weeks is alright too,it will just make it stay cleaner, some people might call it over kill, but there's no such thing as too much maintenance on a car or truck, good luck with it.

Every 4 to 6 weeks depending on the weather and, in some cases, driving conditions. Need to use a good wax, Past is good but I like Liquid it seem to give a better shine. Beading of water after rain of rinse after washing will tell you the condition of the wax, over time you'll set your own times for when you should re-wax your truck.

I live in good old Up State NY where I was born and raised on a dairy farm. I loved field work and working on equipment but hated cows. We know snow too. Presently I wash all three of my cars with Mothers car wash soap and use the same brand (Mothers) three step wax system. #1. Cleaner. #2. Swirl Remover #3. Carnuba Paste wax.
I know this is going to be tough to swallow but water beads on two of the three cars for one solid year. I have a dark green Mercury Sable which I have to hit every nine months. I'm not sure why but maybe the sun raises hell with darker colors.
Now you'll not buy this_ but my garage is full of lawn mowers, a snow blower, a rototiller, bird food, dog food, cat food, tool boxes, a weed-whacker, chainsaw, gas grille, and sh*t that I should get rid of. All three cars dwell outside 365 days a year.
I usually pull the wax jobs off in the Fall when it's cooler and shoot for an overcast day. Honest, Once a year and that's all for two out of the three cars.
Incedently I'm a Chevy man, but had to resort to one year old used cars with two kids in college. They're out of the house married off an make more money than I did when I retired. Now, old Country Boy is waiting for the new Chevy Malibu with the DOHC V-6.
I cut my teeth on Chevy's, a 65 Chevelle 350 hp. 327, 69 Chevelle 375 hp, 396 and swindled GM into a warranty replacement short block 425 hp. 427 for the same car. My dad, the old daiy farmer had a 70 SS 450 HP. 454 that is beautifully restored and resides in GA. The present owner paid $79,000 for the car that cost the old man $4,200 new. WHACKO!

In the strictest sense, "How often do I wax MY car" the answer would be never. But, how often do I wax other folks' cars, about every two months.

wax curtainly won't hurt it. wax it as often as you want. i've never heard of an actual "time table" although i'm sure someone has thought one up. probably the wax manufacturers. lol
