i hear it can be wrong and that wise tail about holding a pice of string and a wedding ring tied on it i hear sometimes that works to.so i wanted to try it and it keeps going in a cricle(which means its a girl) no matter how many times i do it.But i was told mine is a boy?so i was wondering how many have had the ultrasound wrong and if they have tried the string thing?

I've had them check at every u/s I've had and every technician reassures me that it is in fact a penis between my little one's legs and not the cord... so we'll see. I'll let you know in December, as this is my first. But my neighbor's friend was told she was having a girl and wound up with a boy...

I've bought mostly neutral clothes... and I haven't bought anything smaller than 3-6 months for myself yet (I've been told everyone else has got me covered haha), so if worst comes to worst... I've got neutral colored clothes and anything specifically boy-related can go to my cousin who just had a boy and he is still TINY, or my friend who also just had a boy and is small as well...

but best of luck to you... i haven't tried the string. most of my "symptoms" were in-line with the old-wives tales of girl-pregnancies... but i have been reassured (and seen the thing for myself) that it is a boy... so i'm going to trust that. plus i've had a feeling all along that it was a boy.

Ultrasounds these days are so advanced and detailed if they are done at the right time. The problem is some people want the results sooner than later. Mine was wrong nearly 8 years ago. They said I was having a boy and I had a girl. Fortunately for me the mistake was found on another ultrasound. I did try the wedding ring and it always went back and forth for a boy and I did have a boy that time. Nothing is 100% but ultrasounds are the best

My girlfriends was wrong the first time. They had a second ultra sound and it was a boy.
Another friend was told it was a girl and it came out a boy. I do not know if they tried the string thing though. I know that they were told a girl because the boys "junk" had not fallen yet.
The string thing is and wifes tale. I would go by the ultrasound if I were you.

I will tell you this: wives tales are just wives tales! I would definitely trust the opinion of the person who did your ultrasound over the string test! Especially if they said boy, that means they saw boy parts!! I've never known anyone who was falsely told boy at an ultrasound, but I know one person who was falsely told girl! My guess is you are having a boy!

Our first son was confirmed by several ultrasounds to be a girl-so much so his grandmother made a nice needlepoint design with 'her' name on it-and had to pull it all out when out popped a definitely MALE child!
The ultra sound techs had told us that if you 'see' the critical 'part' on the ultrasound-then you know it's a boy...but if you don't-there is still a 50/50 chance it is 'hiding'!
And our son must have known when people were watching-not once was there any chance it could be mistaken! This was 25 years ago at the most highly respected, biggest hospital/medical school in New England...not a rinkydink backwoods medical building!

Both of my ultrasounds were correct.
#1 a boy
#2 a girl

didn't do the string thing with the first but I did with the second and the string said it was a boy and that Chinese number chart thing also said it was a boy (which is supposedly very accurate but it was wrong with mine!!)

i can pretty much tell you that if your doc told you it is a boy THEN more then 95% he is right. If you just truely think that you are having a girl then ask for another one to be done to make sure. I wanted a girl and did the same thing with the string and come to find out it is soooo not true!! With both of mine it was false. Do nto even pay attention to them tales.

I would trust the ultrasound tech or whoever did it that knows what to look for, rather than a string which is just a myth. There is of course a small margin of error, but they are pretty much able to tell you.

My cousin was told she was having a girl so she went out and bought all stuff girl right, i mean tons of clothes and tore the tags off, didn't keep reciepts and she had a boy.
She was so mad not that it was a boy but that she believed that the ultrasound was right and that she spent so much money on girl clothes, etc.

My ultasound was correct but I had a gut feeling I was having a girl and when they were trying to point out the penis on the monitor I asked them twice if they were sure it wasnt the umbilical cord....obviously you dont get mothers intuition until AFTER the baby is born....after they pointed out the testies i had to beleive them......I think that when they tell you it is a boy then they are pretty certain....apparently it is a lil easier to make the mistake when they say it is a girl when in all actuality its a boy with his legs closed.....ohh and i did the old wives tale too and i got circles aswell.......good luck with your impending bundle of BOY joy :)
