I have the flu and my ears are going through that annoying cracking/popping phase, so when it happens i stick a cotton ball in my ear. It makes it feel better. Is it safe to do that?

It's perfectly safe. Although yawning usually gets rid of my ear popping sessions.

Have been doing it all my life. My mom always made me she said it kept the cold air out and it always made me feel better. Not sure it has any other purpose but if it helps who cares it cant hurt you unless you pushed it way too far inside.

I'm not certain that it will actually DO anything, but it's not unsafe, no.
