Trying to find out how to do acid date restoration on buffalo nickels or perhaps Standing Liberty Quarters and would like to know what to use, directions for it, and safety precautions. DO NOT POST THAT I SHOULD NOT DO THIS!

Go to www.brooklyngallery.com and order a bottle of nic-a-date. As for not doing it, I don't care, for any true coin collector can tell an acid date nickel. Also sometimes a collector can not afford the better date nickels and that is the only way to complete the set. The object to coin collecting is actually fun and knowledge, not profit. Not to say that does not happen if one knows his coins. Investors try the quick buck thing. Have fun!
