Labyrinth is a Jim Henson movie but without the original muppets we mostly grew to love. Jeniffer Connaly (don't know how to spell it) and David Bowie star in this movie! I friggin loved it!

I love that movie - Pure Henson magic. Amazingly enough the creator of Elmo was one of the puppeteers in the movie - Kevin Clash - I did not realize he had been around Henson as much as he has. It was brilliantly done...
I am also a sucker for Bowie...wow.

First of all, Labyrinth and Pan's Labyrinth are truly a world apart. The first is fanciful and kid-friendly; the second is brutal, horrifying and not at all suitable for children! It's a bleak, savage movie, totally opposite to Labyrinth.

Labyrinth definitely qualifies as a cult classic, and it stars future Oscar-winner Jennifer Connelly as the girl in crisis and David Bowie as the Goblin King. Because this is a Henson production, the land the girl enters to fetch back her baby brother is populated with fanciful creatures.

See the links below, not only for general information but also for sites set up by fans dedicated to this film.

A wonderful companion piece for this film is "Legend", starring Mia Sara, Tom Cruise and Tim Curry though it's a bit darker film. It's by Ridley Scott and has the most beautiful unicorns presented on film.

I placed links to "Legend" info, too.

EDIT: Oh! When I posted this and read the other posts, I saw that someone else thought of Legend! That's great!

Labyrinth takes me back to the good days. I'm sure it isn't that great if you watch it now. It reminds me of ...what was that other movie? Never ending story. i think. I loved it as a kid. Haven't seen it in a long time.

I haven't seen it in a while, but I did like it. It was a great movie.

If you liked that movie, another fantasy movie you might like is Legend. It was made around the same time. A VERY young Tom Cruise is in it. I prefer Legend to Labyrinth

It's very amusing. The plot is interesting, yet unusual. David Bowie does a good job.

I've seen it, but a long time ago. It was good. Try Pan's Labyrinth, it is very different, but the best movie I've ever seen, truly. Try it out!

I didn't care for that movie all too much. I liked the story okay though.

Pan's Labyrinth is the greatest movie ever though.

I still love that movie! Another one that you might like is Pan's Labyrinth. It is a little more macabre and graphic in a little bit of bloody detail. Very cool though.

I enjoyed it and insisted my grandkids sit down and watch with me. They loved it very much. David Bowie actually pulled off looking sinister.
