The tower segment of Taipei 101 officially opened to the public on December 31st, 2004.

* The tallest tower in the world is now the Burj Dubai tower in Dubai, U.A.E. At 555 metres, it is higher than that of Canada's CN Tower (553 metres), and Taiwan's Taipei 101 tower (508 metres).
