The idea that Ouija boards are illegal in Britain is laughable. They aren't. If someone tells you they are and then gives you other advice, I suggest you'd be wise to let the fact that she's wrong about one concrete, easily provable fact to influence the significance you attach to the rest of what she says. To show that Ouija Boards are openly sold in the UK by normal retailers, I've provided three links below. (The last, by the way, has a rather cool looking engraved slate board.) As for what the Viet Nam vet said, well, who knows, maybe there were all kids of weird chemicals doing interesting things to his brain when he was burning his board. Or maybe he just gets a kick out of scaring kids with hair-raising tales that contain no more than a grain of truth: in this case, probably that he once burned an Ouija board and thought himself very brave for doing so. What you are treating with such huge respect is a piece of cardboard that was probably manufactured in some Chinese factory and sold by a games company. You can, if you choose, do your best to scare yourself silly about how incredibly dangerous it is to get rid of this cardboard and plastic, tell all your friends about how brave you were to deal with it and even manufacture a few tales of your own about what happened when you burned it just to keep the myth alive. Or you can be a sensible person and just throw the damn thing away. Your call.

One of the things I did while still lecturing at churches was to demonstrate a Ouija board.
While I controlled the planchette there were no untoward incidents. When there was a person who tried to "make things exciting" as one person stated after I asked him to stop trying to spell Satan and he admitted he had thought of Satan, but didn't know he was physically forcing the planchette so much it was tilting.

He actually admitted that he wanted the board to show evil, when the pastor asked him, "before God."

On the other hand there was a matriarch of a Church that sat opposite of me and asked her question. We waited for the planchette to move and the pastor made notes. The planchette was really attuned to her. We barely touched the planchette and a few letters then series of numbers were pointed out. It was the date of the first time she had been kissed by her deceased husband. She asked if she could buy the board, so I gave it to her as a gift.

It would bring neither good nor bad spirits. Ouija is a board game invented by Parker Bros, and does not carry any magical or divinatory capabilities whatsoever. It is a bad idea for a Christian Church, because Christians are supposed to avoid baseless superstitions.

I feel that Ouija boards bring bad spirits only. I'm dealing with a friend now that hung around with a group of non-Indian people that went to graveyards and tried to conduct Native American Indian ceremonies and they didn't have any idea what they were doing. What they actually did was open a portal where bad spirits came through and now she has a whole bunch of bad spirits hanging around her and in her house. She is at the verge of a mental breakdown. I tried to explain to her that you don't play around with spirits or things that you don't understand at least I don't. But it is hard to talk with non-Indian people that want to be big time medicine men and medicine women. The reply that I kept getting from her is "I want to help people." I tried to explain that she cannot help people unless she helped herself first and stop trying to be something that she can't. So I guess that I'm on her sh*** list right about now.

If any church uses this board they are either mistaken or know exactly what's going to happen...they are worshiping the Devil...this board is a portal for evil spirits to be released or possibly poses anyone involved.....this is something you need to warn them about...and hopefully the minister is not involved ..if he's not you should tell him what is happening....ASAP

Do not play with this board. You will open yourself up to demonic possession, then you will have so many problems. I use to play with the board and into satan worship. You will not bring up anything good, please take my advice, do not mess with this, it is not a game, it is a trick of satan to put you into bondage.
