I have a variety of masks. Most people in their younger years fail to recognize the benefit of having masks.
Your personality at home, school and work should vary. And the "truer" you is more for those very close or intimate relationships.

People who hide themselves with a false being are most likely to never take their masks off, no matter what their "mask" is. When time comes for them to take it off they often can't see what's been under it.
I don't wear a mask, yet it times of need I put one on. Most the time I don't wear a mask simply because the life I live would be that much less connected to me.

Everyone wears a mask and costume everyday, I remove mine when trying to get to know someone a little more intimately, in front of family and in the shower. I have found that when you reveal yourself to be of a gentler nature the world is all to ready to eat you alive, so my mask is a lot tougher than I am and I dont get messed with, but that is definitely not who I am

Sometimes I wear a mask... I'm not sure its to hide myself or more of to spare people from my depths. When dealing with casual acquaintences, its not very appropriate to reveal the depths of my soul to them.
So the more someone gets to know me, and becomes interested in me, the more I reveal myself to them. I think that is just polite, and not necessarily an attempt to "hide."
Also, sometimes I put on particular masks just for particular occasions -- you know like the fool or jester when I am trying to entertain people.

Nope. Never ever.
I use Philosophy to hide my real self: 1. Stoicism; 2. Logic; 3. Assertiveness (never aggression); 4. Reason; 5. Asceticism; 6. Austerity.

I used to placed on a mask lots of the time. the only time i advance into somewhat myself advance into whilst i advance into at domicile or with a chum that I trusted at their domicile. lots of the time i advance into frightened of asserting the incorrect element and not looking clever or "cool". I purely wanted to be universal by every person, so i'd pretend to be in spite of others wanted me to be. So in distinctive situations i'd have distinctive personalities. That wears emotionally on someone after awhile. Now I do my ultimate to bypass away the mask off lots of the time and be myself. As I advance further and extra useful with who i'm, i'm waiting to no longer care plenty if human beings do no longer approve of or disagree with what I say. additionally, i'm no longer able to stand it whilst human beings act pretend, so as this is yet another element i think of roughly. Do i prefer to act like something I hate? human beings purely could be themselves. like the babies say, save it real! lots of the persons around me fortuitously do no longer placed on mask.

Yes. Definitely.
I've never told anyone about any of my secrets, but I do talk quietly out loud to myself at night.
I told one of my close friends that I was writing a novel, because I knew that she wouldn't laugh, because she likes to write poetry.
