Wow. The level of offense that I take to this is amazingly high.
First off, be we minors or adults, everyone has an opinion, and everyone has a right to voice that opinion as long as they do so appropriately.
Second... Let me tell you something about myself...
I'm 18 years old. I grew up in about 25 different houses, apartments, trailers, hotels, and homeless shelters while going to at least 30 different schools. If ever I was able to watch a cartoon, it was a blessing. Lord, let's not mention the tooth-brushing, for half of the time, I didn't have a toothbrush... or running water...
I never had effing dessert... Dinner was a privilege in itself, let me assure you. My mother is a crack-... she's a drug-abusing prostitute. The majority of the rest of my family disclaims me because I'm gay... or they're in denial about it.
So...
The furthest thing from my mind is trying to be old enough to buy an 'adult beverage' or vote. I've got to graduate from high school (which I was unable to do last year because my mother's boyfriend abuses the whole family, and that drama made me miss too many days of school.), move away from my family's drama, and get into college.
I think I've done enough growing up in the past eighteen years for all fifty of your flippin' years. And some. So why have I any less of a right to voice my opinion than you have?
Get over yourself, eh?

By what you are saying right now is making you sound VERY immature for a 50 year old man. You sound like a boy who just turned 18 that is laughing at younger teens. As many of us know, an 18 year old can be much more mature than a middle-aged adult. There is no special "need" for ANYBODY to vote, buy alcoholic drinks, gamble, etc, but yes, adults do have opportunities to do that and minors don't. Plus, we minors do have alot of our own opportunities that ADULTS don't have. Oh and adults will be adults forever (how sad that you will never be a minor again). You sound like a man who doesn't have kids and doesn't remember how it was when he was growing up and becoming an adult. To answer your question, Yahoo! Answers is open to everyone. Yes, to have a Yahoo! ID you have to be at least 13 years of age, but there are alot of younger kids on here. The LGBT section isn't locked up from minors. I think that it is a great place for minors actually, because of all of the friendly answerers here, they can get help&support. So think about it. I'm 13 and reading your statement makes me laugh out loud.

My, you're intolerant! I may only be 16, but at least I can treat people like decent human beings! And no, I can buy an adult drink (just w/o alcohol...margaritas are great!), and I make my own dinner almost every night (except for when I have a long work schedule). I don't watch cartoons, and I am barely on this site. Right now, I'm busy writing my AP Biology essay and then I have to do my AP Calculus homework. Then, I'm going to bed so I can actually get a little sleep before I get up early to go to the NHS meeting.

50 years old, and you dont know the difference between a comma and a period. Hmm.
Man, it sounds like a few minors rubbed you the wrong way. I, for one, am NOT a minor but this affected/tickled me. Enough for me to respond, at least. I definitely think some minors got one (or three) over on you why you feel like e-thuggin' it in yahoo! answers trying to belittle a whole age group.
Wow, because the most stable adults are the ones that utilize their right to purchase alcohol... right. I don't see where being able to buy liquor ever helped someone, so don't use it as the determining factor of the quality of advice someone can give, thanks.
Lol @ you. Stop acting hurt. :)

Yahoo Answers is a site for people age 13 on. It's not an adult site only. The "minors" you speak of may be young, but they're real people, capable of conveying worthwhile information and opinions to the Yahoo community. I'm amazed at your contempt for anyone under 21 and I'm shocked at your sarcasm. Many adults are unstable. You are classifying all "minors" as unstable people. Maybe you should read more answers from minors. You might change your mind.

In all seriousness, not every minor on here is a brainless immature ***. I believe there is an age limit, no one under 13. By 13, you have to be pretty mature or you're going to face problems when you actually go into the world. As far as the adult drinking and voting goes, drinking adult drinks doesn't make you mature. Thinking drinking alcohol is an instant ticket to maturity falls along the same thought process as thinking liking Pokemon games makes you immature.
Oh, and I'm 15, and I enjoy the food my mom makes. She cooks great, and I'm happy just to have something other than a goddamned frozen dinner and an "adult drink." Enjoy your failure.

With all due respect, sir, I think you're being a bit harsh on the minors. Regardless of age, we still have opinions.
Now I'm not saying all teenagers and youths are intelligent and coherent enough to provide solid and reasonable answers to the questions here, but some of us are.
I myself and almost eighteen, I can not do the things that you seem to deem important, such as buying "adult beverages"..
But I still think my opinion is worth sharing, at least on occasion.
Is there a rule somewhere around here that only people over the age of twenty-one, or even eighteen can answer questions?
If so then I have yet to see it.
I mean absolutely no disrespect, I just think you should lighten up a little on the younger crowd, is all.

Yo, what's your problem? Not all minors are immature. I like to think that I'm mature for my age. At least, it seems I'm more mature than you. I can't vote. Who cares? I can't buy an "adult drink". That doesn't stop anyone my age from getting drunk (which I think is wrong by the way). I don't think I know it all. Who cares if you're making more money than I ever will (which you're probably lying about anyways)? Life isn't about money! How can you talk about being a "stable adult"? You don't seem stable to me.

I am a 17 year old minor, and what you are describing is a kid, one that can't get one a site like this and know what is going on. This is a site for people to come and ask questions and answer them. Just because a person isn't a legal adult doesn't mean that they can't give good advice. There are many smart teens out there that are capable of giving good, if not great advice, to others. You discriminate against younger people and in my eyes are no better then a common racist or homophobes. If you don't like that teens are on here then you should probably not get on here any more.

I am no minor and i think that sometimes they see things and remember things that the older generations forget. Sometimes the insight of a kid as you put it is worth far more than the intellectual ramblings of an adult. The world is seen through many eyes and the more we listen to them the more informed and better off we are
