Trees respire through their leaves; the undersides have small
holes in them called "stomata" which are like small pores.
If you use a microscope you may be able to see them.
The air can pass through them and the carbon dioxide
enters the leaves that way, and the oxygen produced from
photosynthesis also passes back out through the stomata.
