I'm a 40 something married man with one son. I'm introverted. People say I'm a pretty nice person but I don't have any friends. It sounds sad but most of the people I know and work with I don't have very much in common with. I stay at home and read and write, watch TV and surf the net. My wife and I don't have a lot in common and she goes out with her friends. So does my son. Does anyone know of a site where I could meet some nice people to socialize with (besides this one :-) Thanks

I would definitely recommend www.sharedtalk.com
You don't need to speak any foreign language, just saying you want to learn one.
Don't fool around and control your language or you risk being banned (it happend to me).
I personally made many friends there.
Another very good site is www.experienceproject.com you'll see that you're not the only one in such a situation.
