Especially since they are still flogging the "Stay the course" plan for Iraq.
And still retaliating against people who speak against them.
3 of 7 soldiers who wrote the 8/19/07 NYT editorial contradicting Petraeus are now dead or near dead.

I used to vote Republican. I won't anymore. I didn't leave the GOP; they left me. But the Dems aren't much better. A viable Independent Party might be the answer, but the pols on both sides of the aisle will do their level best to stop that from happening, because it threatens their grip on power.
Yeah, I'd call that a crisis.
The people at the controls right now are ideologues, and if they have their way we will end up with some kind of unholy alliance of big business and Christian conservatism. Military-industrial theocracy isn't something I would like to live under.

i don't know who is worth trusting. What I do know is that the continued approach to Iraq by the GOP, is going to handicap all their canidates for re-election. I wish those with upcoming elections the best of luck. I don't know who will win the presidency, but the Democrats will take over a large majority in the House and Senate.

The democrats are a party of defeat. Many of the democrat leaders have been to Syria and made anti American remarks while there. America needs leaders who understand the dangers in the world, not sheep who will appease Chavez, Castro, Kim the midget, Iran and the other tyranical dictators. Oh dont forget the dems are mostly a bunch of socialists these days. How far they have fallen since FDR, Truman and JFK.

Hillary is so hated that she can't win. Obama should not even be a candidate. Edwards is controlled by MoveOn. Reid is mean, grumpy and can't be trusted. He is a divider.
That poor showing for 6 years includes Bush's second victory, a victory for the GOP. The slander coming out of the Dem war chest only worked because it was an off year election. Presidential elections bring more voters, and more informed voters.
The GOP might not just win, but win in a landslide.

The Democrats looked poised to win, but a lot can happen between now and 2008. Sadly, the Democrats are too close ideologically to the Republicans to make real change in this country.

Maybe some people need this country to hit rock bottom before they wake Up!!! If that is the case, then Clitnon, Obama, or Edwards as President should do it!!!
2008 Election should be a pretty crystal clear choice. The Republican and Democrat presidential nominees are on the opposite side, the FAR OPPOSITE side on every important issue.

DNC = Dead National Communists after '08. You're not that clever.
Your status quo of bickering and name calling is being done all by your beloved liberals. When was the last time you heard President Bush call a Democrat a murder, terrorist, Hitler, baby killer, etc etc etc. Open your eyes.
If mainstream Democrats ever realize how much the left really controls their party, there will be a split.

Been herein that for years
and the GOP is still here
what kind of a mandate are you looking for
A weak broke nation with lots of gimme programs that will come out of yours and my pockets, because big dogs got all of the write offs so that leaves us to put the bill.
OR would you rather have a strong economic based program that takes care of it's self so we are not paying the bill for everyone.
One thing you should always keep in the back of your mind is where is all of the money for all of these programs going to come from ( Exxon, Gulf, Dell, ATT ) not ! It's going to come from you and me the working class.

I think republicans have little chance at taking back the Senate, and probably not the House either.
President is another story. If Hillary Clinton is nominated, there will be a lot of people that just won't vote for her.
