Stroked is different than pounded, but is not an antonym of it.

The only way you could come up with an antonym for pounded would be if it were used thusly:

He pouned his point home with his well though out argument.


He gave up aruging his point of view.

With "gave up" being the antonym for pounded.

Grade 8 has a liking for "What's a sentence with....(select word at random from the dictionary)?"
"What's a synonym/antonym for.....?" IS a welcome change; but it too will wear thin very quickly.
