I pre-ordered Halo 3 at EBgames in May or June. On the 25th at midnight the store will open and start selling the Halo 3 copies. If I preordered the game will I still have to wait in line? Some say no, but some say that they get a limited ammount in the first shipment and whoever is one of the first few (even preorders) will buy out that shipment and whoever was late would have to wait for another shipment. Some say that the store orders enough copies to fill preorders and has an extra 50 or so for sales. I'm confused and I need help. What do you think?

Nevermind, answering my own question by asking EBgames employees...No. If you pre-order Halo 3 that gets you a copy "with your name on it" (is how the employee stated)...they will hold that copy for 48 hrs so you can pick it up.

If you pre-ordered it you should not have to wait at all.

I heard some of the employees talking about pre-orders some time ago in gamestop. They say that they only receive enough to fill the pre-orders and the pre-orders should be received all in one shipment or something like that.

However, there will be a line. If you pre-ordered and some other person pre-ordered and you both come to the store at the same time, SOMEONE will have to wait for their copy.

Gamestop only gets enough supplies to meet the pre-orders. If you are going for the midnight release, you will have to wait in line because lets face it, hungry Halo 3 fans + no order = chaos. If you don't wait to wait in line for it, wait until the next day to get your copy since gamestop will have it for 48 hrs.

Yes, you'll have to wait in line. Very seldom do store supplies get depleted.

Software is easy to ship and if they already have x number of pre-orders, they know they need at least x number of games.
