i have to make a mixture to attract mosquitos for science

Standing water they don't like moving water and never lay eggs on it and certain feramones.

Mosquitos are repelled by the colour blue. In the hot countries where people live with them, they paint their doors and window shuters blue and they keep the mossies out of the house. Can't help you with a colour that attracts them though. I think people have tried this type of thing for years, but no success yet with a colour.

usually it is the scents that come from human flesh!
We have found that if a traveler who plans to be in the company of heavily infested misquoted are, if they start taking Vitamin B-12 complex in heavy doses 2 weeks before traveling or even better B12 injections several times weekly.
That the Mosquito's ""hate" it and will not land or bite you at all !!!!!
try it next time you are going to Japan, or Florida in Augest!

Water definitley attracts mosquitos and water with sugar.

Water that has sat and not been changed...stagnant water would be your best bet. But why would you want to attract them knowing about the West Nile Virus???

One thing I found out about five years ago, is that they are attracted to any person who has just eaten a banana. That may sound ridiculous but it is true.
