I signed a year lease and only lived here for about 4 months and want to get out. Is there some secret or way around paying? or maybe a cheaper way than paying however much they ask for? Or maybe even an excuse that could possibly get you out of it? Please help

The one that has always worked for me is if you live in a gated community and the gate is always broken the community is not providing you with the amenities promised in the lease. Take pictures of the broken gate and tell the apartment manager you are concerned about the safety of the complex. Do not break the gate most communities have cameras. Tell them you want out because of the problem.

Most leases will allow you to sub-let the apartment. That would allow you to leave. The only problem with that is if the person you sub-let to doesn't pay for some reason. Then you are still responsible.

Joining the military and being sent to Iraq will work in some states. However, not worth it in my opinion.

if the landlord does not fulfill his/her part of the lease you may be able to get out of it. otherwise you're stuck.
