i was told i was adopted in 1973 but the date filed is 1970 how is that possible that i was legally adopted in 1973 when it shows it was on file in 1970?? how does it have my adoptive parents name on the paper legally if i wasnt adopted until1973? how did they file it 10--25--1970? i was born 10-18-1970? my adoptive parents told me i was 3 when they adopted me? wouldnt the birth certificate say 10-18-1973> not 10-26-1970??????????they would have had to adopt me first to be able to add their names to the birth certificate. so they had me at 9 days old and legally adopted. not like the 3 years like they said. it took to adopt me. doesnt it take time to adopt a baby. how were they able to adopt me in 9 days????????? does this makes sense???????/

the birth certificate that i have since i was about 5 is a forgery it isnt even real it's a bad black and white copy. i have found out that i wasnt adopted i was just handed to these people and they told me they had me at 6 weeks because cps stepped in, we talked to my aunt and she just remembers them one day showing up with me. there are too many other people that have told the same thing as my aunt that contradicts my adoptive parents story. she has filled in many missing pieces.
i told my parents until i got paperwork on the adoption i wasnt speaking to them until i found out what happened, all they had to do was give me my legal paperwork instead they called the police and basically tried to get my son their grandson without just cause , they said that i was miss treating my son. they are out to hurt me because i found out the truth,

In adoption proceedings it is common for the courts to order the birth ceritficate to be amended to make the adoptive parents look like they are the birth parents. This is a carry over from the past when there was a social stigma against adopted children. (Many adopted children were from unmarried mothers before birth control existed.) The stigma was still around in the early seventies. You were three when you were adopted. The birth certificate was amended when you were adopted. You parents did not lie to you.

Sounds like they received you as a 9 day old infant, and then it took three years to finalize for what ever reason.

In 1970 adoptions were not as open as the can be now - meaning that your birth parents made the decision to put you up for adoption, and 9 days after you were born you were put with a suitable family, and they proceeded with adoption. The other explanation may be that for whatever reason you were removed from your birth parents immediately at birth, and three years was the time necessary to relinquish their rights and formalize adoption.

There is no big conspiracy theory - they probably have had you since you were 9 days old. Sit down and calmly ask them why there was three years to the point of formalized adoption - the only people who will know the whole story is them.

Since you were born in 1970, that is when the birth certificate would be filed. It is a birth certificate, not an adoption certificate. The birth certificate would be update with your adoptive parents names when you were adopted in 1973, however that would not change the original birth date or the original file date.

In 1975 it was not uncommom to have a black and white certified copy of a birth certificate. However you can get the birth certificate that is registered with the state. If you are in California go here: https://www.vitalchek.com/agency_locator.aspx?state=CA&eventtype=birth

It isn't a conspiracy, they made birth certificates with the adoptive parents names on them years after the time children were born. This was to help the child fit in.
