peg them to a hanger and dry them near the dryer or use a nice smelling fabric softner in the was or use a different washpowder designed for jeans

Why not try putting fabric softener in with the wash, they do have different smells, and your jeans will take on that smell and also be softer. Or maybe try spraying them with a little Fabreeze, you know that fabric scent, it is really for your house, like your couch, or rugs etc but they will work on any fabric. When I went on vacation last year we were away for 2 weeks in the middle of a hot summer, one woman said she sprayed her clothes with fabric softener, since they were stinking of sweat, and that did the trick.

This should not be happening unless your washer is not spinning out the clothes enough. Are they dripping when you get them out of the washer?

Try not laying them flat when you put them out to dry. Try hanging them on racks in a well ventilated area.

When you dry them in your dryer, put it on AIR only, no heat. Its the heat in the dryer that shrinks them. And use an unscented dryer sheet.

Next time put a floor fan in front of them to speed the drying time.:)
