A friend told me that it supported colonization but I'm not sure. So, what reason for colonization is found in the Mayflower Compact?

The Mayflower Compact was signed by the Pilgrims who came over on the Mayflower. It is something like a constitution, as it set out certain rules for the colony (and it was INTENDED to be a colony). The Pilgrims desired religious freedom, and in return they were to settle and produce usable goods for the investors who helped finance the venture.

The Mayflower Compact was basically the first constitution of America. The King of England gave the Pilgrims the right of self-government which was a precursor to American independence.

The Mayflower Compact was in essence a social contract in which the settlers consented to follow the rules and regulations of the government for the sake of survival. The government, in return, would derive its power from the consent of the governed.
