Are there any women groups for verbally abused women that stay in terrible relationships, she's also a widow?

My soon to be mother-inLaw has been broken by losing her husband 5 years ago. The time is now when I need advise as to how to help. I can't ignore it eventhough she has been a @#$*&!@%! to me. What can I say...I am human. We reside in LA County CA. She just broke up with her loser man but yet seems to feel pitty and takes him back... He's about 5'10" and 180lb...you think you could take him? j/k
