I don't. I know that when I am gone there won't even be a bump in the road. All the things that I have done or wanted to do won't amount to a hill of beans. Kind of depressing isn't it?

One way is to answer as well as I can on Yahoo! Answers, and to share my experience and knowledge with the young. Another is to go to Ethical Society platform meetings on Sunday, and the forum, and learn how to promote "deed before creed," and to analyze situations where ethical decisions are needed. I was a philosophy major specializing in ethics when I was in college, and I think I can make a difference if I don't give up and just feel sorry for myself.
Also by working for the presidential candidate I trust the most, and promoting the idea that Liberty and Justice for All is a worthy and attainable goal.

I make a difference because of the work that I do.
Thomas G makes a HUGE difference in the lives of young people! He offers hope and opportunity to those who would otherwise be passed over. And that's just ONE of his jobs! Do not let him fool you for an instant!

I help teens to understand that they can control their fate and make decisions that will turn their lives into the worlds that they want. I help them to create lasting memories in yearbooks and award winning articles in the school newspaper. I make them laugh when they are sad. I celebrate their first dates, firs kisses, birthdays, dates they get drivers' licenses, Prom, and graduations. I am there when they need a shoulder and a pat on the back. I make a difference every day....I'm a teacher.

I'm a veteran of two wars, I volunteer in almost every local charity event, I'm a Scout Troop Leader, I am a volunteer at my local humane society, I am very involved in municipal politics, speak for those who can't or won't at community meetings with people all the way up to the mayor and his goons, donate to charities and run in almost every marathon my city has for what ever cause.
I'll never forgive myself for what I have done in my two wars, so I do everything I can to try and make up for it.

Depends... quality or quantity?
I like to help individual people out. But lately I've stepped that up and started up a peer support network at my uni heh heh.
You could volunteer... maybe go rebuild houses in Thailand. that seems like it would make a massive difference. Giving people money only helps so much.

Support a cause. You may seem like you aren't doing much when there are 1000's more doing the same thing, but you really can make a difference.

I volunteer at the humane society. I am going to look into the ADULT READ program to volunteer. I may be ill but I , too, can make a difference as long as I draw a breath.

Right here on this website...
I may be mostly an irreverent wise-oz...
But more than 50 times since I started doing this, I've had people tell me thanks for making their day, or helping them out, or giving them new insight into life's problems...
If that's not making a difference...
I don't know what is...
Thanks to you also...
For making a difference in my life...kudos to you, my friend(s)
