The Democratic Party is committed to keeping our nation safe and expanding opportunity for every American. That commitment is reflected in an agenda that emphasizes the security of our nation, strong economic growth, affordable health care for all Americans, retirement security, honest government, and civil rights.
We have a bold new direction for a secure America. We seek: 1) Honest Leadership & Open Government, 2) Real Security, 3) Energy Independence, 4) Economic Prosperity & Educational Excellence, 5) A Healthcare System that Works for Everyone, and 6) Retirement Security.

Here's the problem with the Democrats:
[Judicial radical individualism] weakens or destroys the authority of what sociologists call "intermediate institutions"--families, councils, governors, state legislatures--that stand between the individual and the national government and its bureaucracies. All of this has happened within the lifetimes of many Americans. We are worse off because of it, and none of it was commanded or contemplated by the Constitution.[see: Brown Vs. Board of Education]
This breaks down the Foundation of our country because of the nature in which it hears the complaints of those "Rights" organizations on behalf of individuals, who usurp the [powers of the people] through our Courts systems, and legislating Anti-Moral Laws from the bench.
So what do we have? No right or wrong--and THAT my friend, is what has divided our Nation.
Democrats have took to the extreme, on intolerance of dissenting opinons, and it is become Dangerous for our security.
We have went from Classical or Traditional Liberalism to Modern (Destructive) Liberalism.

I don't speak for the democratic party, but as a voter who usually votes democrat, I can tell you some of what I stand for.
I stand for fundamental fairness in dealing with my fellow men (and women). This means no discrimination or prejudice, and giving everyone a fair chance at the American dream. Those who are wealthy have a great head start on this. A slight bit of their resources can improve the chances for those who couldn't afford it otherwise. This can mean many things, but I'm thinking of federal college grants, bankruptcy assistance, WIC, head start, etc.... Not so much welfare - it should be temporary until you get a job that equals the level assistance would give you.
When people are down, it's incumbant upon society to help them back up on their own two feet, rather than throw them to the dogs. It is very easy today to experience downward mobility, and never pull out of it.
Everyone should get a quality education from quality educators. This means that teachers should be allowed to teach, not be forced to use benchmarks like in a military operation. In order to recruit quality teachers, they need to make quality pay. Teacher pay is abominable when you compare it to other occupations requiring the same education level.
Those who make the most can afford to be taxed the most. Those who make the least can't afford to pay the same percentage of their income to taxes.
Health care should not be a privilege of the rich - it is a right of all citizens to have their basic health needs met. There should be a system that provides care to the sick at an affordable price. This can be done through government sponsored health insurance, a national health care system, a readjustment of health costs, or a combination of the three. As it is, there should not be so many uninsured in a land of such plenty.
I believe in keeping the environment clean and preserving it for future generations. This means sustainable development, and responsible use of resources. We should keep our earth as nice as we want to keep our house.
I believe in a competant foriegn policy, one that uses military action as a last resort. Diplomacy should be the primary tool of our foriegn policy.
I don't believe we are in any kind of ideological conflict with any religion or group of people. I believe that we are engaged in a struggle against a small number of determined criminals (terrorists) who would love to hurt us, and they need to be prosecuted, and prevented from carrying out acts of terror against any nation. This is done by law enforcement, intelligence, and security at vulnerable places, not by the military.
I believe that we are a land of opportunity and that people should be allowed to come here legally. If they are coming illegally, we need to be proactive and work on fixing the push and pull factors bringing them here, not reactive and sending them home or building a wall against them.
These are just some of my stances. I really don't think they're democratic party values, but the democrats seem to be more with me than against me.

First of all, they would be in charge of every facet of government.
Next, everyone else would be completely equal, regardless of work, effort, deviancy, personal choices....all would like in identical houses, with identical public transportation, with identical healthcare, and identical schools. The democrats in charge of the government would live a lot better than this, of course, and their kids would go to private schools.
Lastly, for anyone complaining about the government, there would be centers for reprogramming, and those small government people would receive a thorough brainwashing for several years, for their own good...and be killed if it didn't stick.

The perfect world for a Democrat includes the ability to have sex with interns (et. al), participate in scandals and fraud knowingly plus getting away with it, putting the US in danger, having complete control over the brainwashing of America via the news media, and spending more time attacking the Republicans rather doing their own jobs -- so in essence, they only thing they're missing to a perfect world is a Democrat President.

Lower taxes on millionaires and corporations, higher taxes on working middle class people, relaxing regulations on companies releasing toxins in communities, a foreign policy that centers on protecting oil company property, more intrusion in the personal lives of the citizens, more people on welfare to keep the labor supply up and wages down, less funds for education so that people will keep voting for them....
Oh wait
I thought you said Republican.

No no no. You can get all sorts of details on what they stand for and their goals. Equality, protections for all, world peace, saving the earth, blah blah blah each and everyone of them is an idealistic dream full of promise and hope that any decent American would love to fix.
Of course, there are certain....pesky nuances that get in the way of these goals.
The thing that needs to be asked is.....
HOW can they achieve these goals?
Are these goals more important than the Constitution? Which takes precident?...the laws of our nation or a quick return for goal achievement?

I think the lack of responses from those calling themselves Democrats speaks for itself. I would dearly like to hear a concrete, feasible plan that does not involve a capitulating of American values and endangering of further lives. The Democrats can't have it both ways.

They embrace and champion the little man. They want to level the playing field by taking away from those who have too much and giving it to those less fortunate to help them get on their feet. You know, To each according to their needs. From each according to their means. Oh wait. That was Karl Marx that said that.
They don't want America to succeed because then they would have no one left to champion and they would be out of power.
