YES!!! Way too early. Doctors recommend not starting babyfoods until at least 4 months. Even then, some babies aren't ready for solids (see the link re. solid food readiness below) until they are closer to 6 months. Best to wait until 6 months. Until then, they need breastmilk or formula only. No water, no cow's milk, nothing else.
Starting solids too soon can make your baby more likely to develop food allergies.
There are some cases in which doctor's recommend rice cereal a little earlier, but you need to discuss that with your baby's doctor before you do it. It can be a choking hazard.

Yes, absolutely.
My friend was advised to give her baby solids at 18weeks because the baby wasn't gaining weight, but a baby's digestive system isn't ready for solids until at least 6 months. The best nourishment for a human baby is human milk.
A lactation consultant can help you with breastfeeding or an early childhood nurse can help you with formula feeding if you can't breastfeed, but try these options first as starting solids early can contribute to later issues with allergies.
Good luck, it gets easier... :)

How can you tell if your baby is ready for solids? Here are a few hints:
* Is your baby's tongue-thrust reflex gone or diminished? This reflex, which prevents infants from choking on foreign objects, also causes them to push food out of their mouths.
* Can your baby support his or her own head? To eat solid food, an infant needs good head and neck control and should be able to sit up.
* Is your baby interested in food? A 6-month-old baby who stares and grabs at your food at dinnertime is clearly ready for some variety in the food department.
Chances are your baby isnt ready yet. Most arent ready till 5-6 months

14 weeks old.. Yes that is entirely way to early for a baby to eat foods. They're stomach would not be able to handle "real" foods... i would wait untill around 6 months to even introduce your child to jar foods. consult with a doctor before you do anything though just to be on the safe side. every child is different as well as what their stomachs can handle! good luck!!

Yes! Their little digestive systems are not ready for food at this age. Most pediatricians recommend starting solids between 4-6 months. Mine prefers if you wait until the 6 month mark. Talk to your pediatrician for feeding advice if you are having troubles.
I had everyone under the sun telling me to give my son rice cereal and my doc. said it was a big no-no and can actually cause medical issues for him as an adult (ie: food allergies, diabetes, obesity, etc.). I'm glad I listened to our peditrician and waited.

Yes definitely you have to be careful if you give food that can damage his or her stomag. Some people gives to the baby cereal after 4 months only that .

It depends on the baby, rice cereal watered down would be o.k try to see if he chokes a little if he does then he might not be ready, I feed my baby's rice cereal @ 4 1/2 months with no problems, They actually slept better at night. Try it but be careful and watch for signs that he/shes ready
