Is it even possible? I want to scan a image with text and be able to change the text online. Is it possible to do it? My scanner is a all-in-one HP printer v40. It's kind of old. But I wanted to know if I could edit my scanned thing

Your scanner has to have OCR (Optical Recognition) software to make text editable.

you can but the text won't match the original text. scan it and save it. then you can open it and make changes in paint only. it makes it like you are editing a picture. that is the only way. you have to have a special scanner to do what you want to do.

There are various programmes to read printed text from a scanned document into a word processor. None of them work perfectly.

A few examples are:
FineReader
Iris
TextBridge

Takes special software to do that.
Not part of MS Word.

OCR editor. If your scanner software doesn't already have one built-in, you can download one free/shareware/trial.
