When did we EVER have to "fight them here"? A terrorist attack is not the same thing as a military invasion - there IS no way to "fight" it. It's over in - I don't know, how long does it take a plane to fly into a building and explode?

Earnest: What do their "troops" look like? What uniform do they wear? Where are their military bases?

Locutus: What gives us the right to use Iraq as our personal battleground? How would you feel if, say, North Korea decided to use the U.S. to fight another country? Think they have that right?

Lance: Restating the phrase I'm questioning doesn't answer the question. You cannot prove that we'd be engaged in battle here, because the United States of America has NEVER been invaded by ANY foreign land. NEVER.

It's tragic that 29 people answered the question and not one person was able to actually explain how they know that if we weren't engaged in war in Iraq, we'd have suffered another 9/11-type attack.

Earnest: Actually, no, you didn't answer, but that's okay; I didn't actually expect you to. And the "majority" of Americans don't agree with what you said. You can't even get the majority of people who answered this question to agree with you; how can you presume to speak for the majority of Americans?

That's the same lie the military industrial complex used to keep us in Vietnam.
It was horse **** then and it's horse **** now.

read your history books Johnston told the public if you don't fight communisom in Vietnam you should all start learning to speak Chinese. Because they will be over here.
When the soldiers left the war was over. Since they have had a few civil wars but who is to say they wouldn't have anyway.
I find it hard to believe that these deep hatreds the Lebannon has for Isreal and vice versa. Sunni for shiite and hamas and kurds and drunds are just going to throw down the weapons and say I see the light and we will be best buddys.
Palestinian Islamic militants in Gaza stripe said if you leave we will stop fighting. Since Isreal left the Palestinians have shot a rocket into Southern Isreal every day since.
So how are we to expect this war will ever be over? If they stay the course they have been fighting over there for 6000 years. REmember BAbylon and the meeds and persia?
That is Iraq and Iran and they just got out of an 8 years war in the 1980's. So when they make peace between all of Iraq, Afganistan, Pakistan, India and Syria. Then they have peace with Palestine and Isreal and Jordan? They may start fighting each other again.
The USA isn't in Africa where the worst genocide that the world has ever seen is taking place. By Islamic Forces who are exterminating them to take their land and herds.

Kinda like the Sandanistas back in the Reagan era. Support the right wing death squads ot Nicaragua (population 4 million) will storm through Mexico and conquor America.
They were never in Iraq until we sent in the army. So its a mouse trap. W built a better one and Al Qaida beat a path to Iraq. Now if we can defeat them here there won't be any nasty terrorists left to storm through Mexico and drop more airplanes on innocent pentagons.

It is a smokescreen........there were no terrrorists in Iraq until after we invaded!Just like the undienable proof of WMDs for going in in the first place! And of course it was really Saddam behind the 9/11 attacks(according to Cheney!)Now according to Bush we have to fight them over there because we created a safe haven for them! Also according to Bush if we withdraw from Iraq they'll chase us home and hit us here!Maybe if Bush had paid a little attention to our national security prior to 9/11 we wouldn't have had a war on terror in the first place!

It's a bait and trap scenario. It is a killing field for our enemies. No, we didn't choose it as the front on terror, Al Qeada did.

It doesn't mean anything. It's a nonsense expression used for propaganda purposes, and only feeble minds respond to it as though it somehow carried the weight of truth. In fact, it's simply gibberish.

What's stopping them from bringing the fight over here? It's certainly not our secure borders. Personally, I would rather not have the fight on U.S. soil no matter how long it takes you to figure it out.
Edit: I'm butting in to reply to your comment to Lance. The United States is currently being invaded by Mexico. Though the invasion is mostly nonviolent, it is still definitely an invasion.

It means take the fight to them so that they can't come here and kill us. I understand the theory but I don't think it's being applied well.

Its just a line that tries to tap into people's fear of a repeat of 9-11. But the thing is...Carpet bombing Iraq has absolutely NOTHING to do with protecting America.
The sad part, is a large amount of Americans dont realize that.
