when did they become america's team? last time i checked,i was american and still am. the cowboys are not my team. any other americans out there that believe this?

It's stupid, NFL films offered the name to the Steelers, Steelers thought it was stupid and said no. Cowboys desperate for attention bought into it and keep trying to believe that other people buy into it too when they don't. Cowboys suck.
Every thanksgiving you get one game with the Lions and another game with the cowboys. Last year for the first time there was a third Thanksgiving game on the NFL network, it was Broncos v. Chiefs. I have no idea if they are doing that this year as well and whether or not a 3rd team is now required to play that day or if it will be 2 different teams.

Actually, it goes back to when Tex Schramm was GM, before Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys...when Tom Landry was coach...It was a marketting campaign...

has to do with the simple fact that so many people love them and some many people sell the crowd out
most televised watched team
im a huge cowboys fan and have said many times that i dont like the Americas team thing its kinda cocky
now if we had won every single supperbowl ever and no other team had ever beat us, that be a different story
they have always, even in bad years showed great talent and leadership amongst the leauge

they got the nick name first it stuck with them the best it was cool when they were winning superbowls but now not so much now it is just plain annoying but oh well we will just watch the Dallas Cowboys continue not to win any playoff games I lost count but I know its been a long time since they did win in the post season

americas team dates back to the early 90's when they were among the best. they were the first to use that slogan as their own so i guess it stuck with them.
ESPN did a poll of the favorite sports teams in America, covering all the major sports of: football,baseball,basketball and hockey. and do you know who came in first...................
