I'm at my local library right now and am trying to get on Myspace. I lugged my MacBook and all my school books up here so I could get on the wifi and work on a project with friends. Some are not here so we need to ask them questions throught myspace.

When I log onto MySpace, it says that the library has blocked it. Anybody know how to bypass this? Any terminal hacks or anything to get through? I'm on Mac OS X.

You may use proxy servers, but you can get kicked out of the library if they find out. Not worth it.

I know you don't want to hear this, but you shouldn't even try because that is against the acceptable use policy. They have sites blocked for safety and security reasons.

Trying to bypass their security is called hacking and will get you banned from the library.

They can see and track everything you do so you WILL get caught. Not being able to use the computers at all would suck way worse than just using them to view allowed sites - wouldn't it?

You can try proxy servers, but like they said it's not worth it. Your computer has no effect upon what the library's network allows in or out. And yes, they are monitoring your usage, as they are required to do by law...
