I am watching The Descent right now and all the girls in this movie keep yelling, and it made me wonder: Is it safe to yell in caves? Will yelling in a cave cause a cave-in, kinda like starting an avalanche?
Just curious. :)

Avalanches that are set off by loud noises typically only happens in movies (when a large snow drift breaks off from the top of the mountain & comes tumbling down).
This wouldn't happen INSIDE a solid cave... (most rocks aren't fragile enough to be shattered by someone yelling)
Granted - yelling inside a cavern like that might freak out the bats which may reside in 'em.

No because the bats can attack you and if the cave is not stable it could kind of cave in

It might not be a good idea since bat's dwell in caves you may scare them, and they would come flying toward's you!

There might be bears hibernating nearby.... and they would just wake up grumpy, angry and hungry. Very bad idea indeed
