If you are required to write a metaphor about age, then you want something that exaggerates age. So an extreme of one sort or the other. The Galapagos turtles that live 150 years, or Sequoia trees that live thousands of years. OR you can go the other route and use a fruit fly with a life span of 48 hours.

You might also consider an alternative definition of age: ...These years are my Dark Ages... OR ...this is my soul's Bronze Age...

Do well.

Study these and come up with a similar one. then turn it in to the teacher.

1.

There once was a fellow named Tim
whose dad never taught him to swim.
He fell off a dock
and sunk like a rock.
And that was the end of him.

2.

There once was a young girl named Jill.
Who was scared by the sight of a drill.
She brushed every day
So her dentist would say,
“Your teeth are so perfect; no bill.”

good luck
