I know someone who says that humans did not evolve from other animals but does believe in evolution in general, so can someone please go find solid proof of that being true/untrue? I'd like to just like to have some link to an article, essay, etc.

If you believe in evolution, it's pretty much impossible not to believe humans evolved from primates without making some absurd stretches. Even if you don't accept general morphological similarities, genetic evidence is indisputable. The human and chimp genomes are highly similar; you can read the Chimp genome paper here (highly technical):
http://www.nature.com/nature/focus/chimpgenome/
which clearly indicates that we're closely related, genetically, to chimps. This similarity is true across all parts of the genome, even those parts that have no function. Phylogenetics is a pretty well-established branch of science, categorizing species based on genomic similarities, and the evidence that humans are closely genetically related to great apes is rock solid.

Of course, there's no SOLID proof that this is true. Your friend could always choose to believe that God (or whoever) created humans "just so" for whatever mysterious reasons. This sort of argument is impossible to counter; whatever proofs you find, your friend can argue that God has the power to create things however he liked, even to give us the appearance that humans descended from apes.

There is no solid proof. There is "supporting evidence"...puzzle pieces, basically. But there are more pieces missing than found...so any honest scientist will tell you that macro-evolution is a theory. Others, with an agenda, will tell you it is the truth...or that it is a lie. We do not know. As for belief in God being compatible (or incompatible) with evolution...you need not worry - there's no reason God couldn't have done it that way, right? That's the problem with those who try to do their own interpreting of the Bible...they often don't have the proper education in biblical exigesis to correctly do it. Pope John Paul 2 said that evolution is a probability, given the scientific knowledge of our time, but that we must acknowledge that we are not merely biological, but have a soul - basically, our biology can have evolved, but at some point, God touches each of us. Personally, I think that is the most profound and best explanation for both realms of thought.

There's no observable proof or credible evidence that macro-evolution even happens let alone humans coming from other primates even if they do share a great percentage of genetic factors....the whole theory is a falsehood. Life cannot start by itself here or anywhere else. You need 20 left handed amino acids to form in the proper order and no scientific experiment to date has shown that this is possible in the presence of an oxygen atmosphere or absence of an oxygen atmosphere---both are destructive in some way to the formation of amino acids from molecules and formation in water is out because of hydrolysis which disolves bonds. And even a simple cell is the epitomy of complexity---not even enough time in the universe for a simple cell to have developed by random chance. "God created" is the only scientific explanation....all other options are just plain wishful thinking and delusional.

Hate to break it to you, but there is no solid proof. The only truly solid proof of any type of evolution supports only microevolution(the evolution of one species into a 'better' version of that same species). Microevolution is the opposite of what's called macroevolution(the evolution of one species into an entirely different species over time). No solid proof exists for macroevolution.

Yes. There is no disputing that we evolved from a common ancestor to apes. At least when you look at the science.

Well, for example, all living organisms are made up of the same twenty amino acids.....
The human has a tailbone, which science has shown is what is left of our tail.....

There is no solid proof because evolution is bogus.
