My child is 2.5 months old, i wanted to offer her bottle milk when i go out but she refuses to take either the formula or breast milk pumped. Pls advice me how to habituate her to bottle as it causes me a great problem when i go out.

honey just breastfeed her in public....take her with you and just do it......don't be ashamed......i nurse my baby wherever i damn well need and feel like.....and it causes no problems
her not taking a bottle is not causing the "great problem"......YOU are making it harder than it has to be....you are causing the problem by trying to force a bottle on her because of your shame.....don't be shameful
feed her and be proud of it and get on with your life......easy as that

Same thing happened with me. I strictly breast fed my sons. I had to find a good nipple they would take. All the money i spent on them, come to find out he liked the cheapest ones they make! Wierd but it's true. I also used powderd formula. I added a little bit of sugar or karo syrup to the water then mixed it in. Formula smells aweful so i can imagin how it taste. I asked my doctor about that and she said it would be ok as long as i didn't over do it. They are new to it still at that age so just a little patience and she will come around. Good Luck!

Try to have someone else give it to her. Or try giving it to her facing away from you. Kind of her back against your tummy and giving it to her that way. Also try to get a bottle that has a natural shape to it. With my daughter I used the Playtex Ventaire Natural Shape and she did well with those. Now with my son I kind of only nurse him but occasionally I do give him a bottle and he takes the Soothie really well. I guess it's because he has the Soothie pacifier and it's the exact same nipple. some babies will not take to bottles. Try different varieties until you find the one she likes best. You may just have to wait until she is older to be gone for more than an hour or so. Good luck!
