I'm 21, Made in 1985 in the USA
Government for most of are peers is so bad that they think you have to be one or the other. they think only old people vote and that there vote doesn't matter. I love america. I'm patriotic. but I think the idea of Patriotism has changed just like most other things.
The young Adults are in the mind set of all I have to care about is myself and forget the rest of the world. They have gotten really Materialistic

Well, I am 34 and very interested in politics and most people my age , that i speak to, are interested and of course older people. But, i talk to a lot of 20 something people who don't even know what a conservative or liberal is . They don't know who is running for office or anything else, but , i'm sure some people your age care, like yourself. I think that there used to be less distractions and so people cared more about these things. Now you have video games hundreds of tv stations, the internet and its distracting, but, i also think that young people think we are screwed either way.....they see how the people running the country get what they want and we are still poor or middle class and of course fiascos like Iraq and Katrina is fresh in their minds.

Only when the draft puts their butts on the line will you see 17-30 year olds out protesting on the streets!!
The youth from the 60's & 70's had motivation in determining how informed they made themselves.
To today's youth it is still a hypothetical.
I don't think they are any less Patriotic though.
I think they all have been done a great disservice by society being brought up in such a superficial culture and not have been brought up to value anything but money and status!
We'll reap what we sow!

I think we WERE less patriotic but since either the Democratic Congress was elected, or since the second Iraq war started, our interest in politics has spiked once again.
No matter how much or how little one is involved in politics, they will always have an opinion about Iraq, if nothing else.

I am 59, and I subscribe to different political news groups because of the young minds, the people who's opinion I follow, are smart, and very savvy, they tend to look much deeper than what the politicians say, they are all over the environment, racism, and civil rights...patriotic you bet, and looking out for their futures.

I don't know what age you are, so I can't really answer, except to say that when I was in college in the '90s, everyone I knew was very patriotic and political.

I would say all generations are as patriotic as any of the others. Some have more of an occasion to show it than others. So no less and no more.

NO. im a 90's kid and im kinda obessed with polotics! im one burning ball of opinion. and i have read every single platform from the 08 cantidates and watch the news every night.
but i don't really publisize that when im with my friends... no one wants to look like a dork. so if we get on the subject, it's one thing, but otherwise most people my age would rather talk about britney spears in all her insane glory.

I think that those who do follow politics tend to have more of a "question authority" mindset. Personally I think that's more patriotic than the blind patriot that does what he's told because he was told.
