All of these and many more are the "forefathers" of today's music. Which is better? That is very difficult to say as they are all different and wrote and played types of music. It is common belief that the Beatles started it all. I don't think so, while they are probably the best know and most widely played group, they were influenced by somebody. My vote is for a tie amongst those listed and the rest of the bands of the sixties. There were also some strong bands in the fifties that should be considered also.
