I was asked out on a date and of course I declined because I'm married. I wear my wedding ring everyday! Honestly, I don't flirt and I don't wear provocative clothing...Is it that people expect married people to cheat or do these guys just like to see me squirm out of these uncomfortable situations???

I know what you mean! It grosses me out when men flirt with me or anything like that. All I do is hold up my wedding ring and smile. I hate it when stuff like that happens to me! Its disgusting!

I honestly think that society doesn't care as much as they did 30 years ago if people are married in the dating world, I notice a lot of married men stick their wedding ring in their pocket when they go out or don't wear them at all.

Why, does it happen to you often? Honestly, it's never happened to me. The person who asked you might not have paid attention, could be an honest mistake; don't blow it out of proportion. What's so uncomfortable? Just say no thanks, I'm married. It's much more uncomfortable to squirm out of an undesirable date when you're NOT wearing a ring.

They're trying in spite of or *because* of the ring.

Your ring isn't actually made of kryptonite, and they have had success with other married women in the past. So they are trying you.

Just say no and ignore them. Why do you think little boys hold up frogs to little girls? To see them scream. The less you react the less they will ask.

I know what you mean I had a guy hitting on my and I kept tuning him down and he asked so is that one of those fake rings girls like you were to keep guys like me away. I was so annoyed because he admitted to seeing the ring by asking I told him no my husband bought it for me and walked away. I just thought it was rude. maybe he thought it was fake I don't know no offense because mine definitely doesn't look fake but he got the idea it was or maybe he has had a few girls pull that one on him??

If it`s not the first time you have been asked, you must be very attractive. That said, these men are looking for nothing but sex. The ring finger is an attraction because there is no commitment.

Some guys just dont care. And some actually find it a turn on to be with a married woman.

It's possible that they didn't notice. Guys usually aren't very good at noticing small details, like jewelry. If they don't think to look for a wedding ring, they probably won't notice one.

OK snackdaddy.....
guys have seen the ploy too often to accept it???????

What happened to a womans right to choose? If they're wearing a ring as a ploy to NOT get hit on, that's their choice. They don't want to be bothered.
Guys, get a clue.

Some guys may not care whether you are single or not.....and just because you wear a wedding ring doesn't mean you are married...and not wearing one doesn't mean that you aren't married.

I have female friends that wear rings on their ring finger to just discourage getting hit on and guys have seen the ploy done too often to just sit by and accept it as real any more.
