You take the time to answer a question and find that someone has just copied and posted 17 pages of the same and more. I prefer to read the answerers written word, not something copied from a web site.

If it's obviously cut and pasted, they don't stand a chance of the ten points with me. People who post a link as their answer don't cut the mustard either.

It is annoying I agree. Its also impolite to answer meaningful questions with utter drab.
Why, when trying to reach out to people - looking for help (in any situation) some folk get the wrong impression and answer with something they merely earn points on. Some folk don't take it serious enough and then others might overdo it too. So its down to the questioner to sit with the problem or pucker up and look for something more fullfilling. Y!A has got answers - but not all of them. Can please some folk some of the time but not all of the people all of the time.

Totally agree with you, I like to reply in my own words and if I find useful info on a website will post the link not the whole page!

Yeh agreed, but often they don't get best answer because it's obvious it involved little effort or thought on their part. When I vote best answer I don't want to spend too long selecting best answer so often people who use the '17 page copy&paste method' harm their own 'efforts'.

I answer the question in a short & to the point fashion because anyone can look up something & copy & paste it to here.

if they really want you to know that info ... keep it short and sweet by copying and pasting the web ADDRESS ... I was going to copy and paste a really long answer of some sort to be a smart *** but I decided against it ... for your sake ! lol

I know someone who does that all the time. He also gives every other answer a thumbs down!
