Does it effect the placement of trailers or priority of practice and qualify times, etc.?

It mainly effects the prizemoney aspect of things. The winning constructor stands to get about £50million wheras whoever comes last gets nothing. The television rights money varies too based on constructors points.

It doesnt really make any difference to the races though. The winning constructor is the first team on the oit entry, 2nd place is second garage and so on but there is no real benefit to that. You still are limited to the pitlane speed limiter for the same length.

The advantages of winning the constructors championship is purely monetary.

the trucks line up behind their position in the garage. It doesnt effect qualifying at all.

Nothing.
The drivers and constructors challenge in two different competitions. (Points for each position count in both. i.e first place = 10 points for the driver and 10 for the constructor)
The ruling means McClaren can't win this years' constructor title but their drivers can still win the drivers title.
