I'm a little bit emo and I think emo people are cooler. I know a lot of people who dress emo, but aren't. So whoever hates emo is just plain weird. I don't hate emo stuff. Some other people just don't like it because it's not that positive. I use to cut myself and I didn't so it because it was fun. I did it because I always felt bad. my family always putting me down, kids at skool are mean and sometimes I feel like a freak. But not anymore. I am much stronger whoever puts me down is going down too!

Allow me to let you in on a little secret:
Everyone's an emo. This is just yet another
way for society to separate the weak from the strong. The good from the bad. The victims from
the bullies. As if we don't already have enough
problems to contend with as it as?
People will perpetually feel the need to distinguish
and separate themselves from others; be it
for class (social), race, creed, religion, I.Q., etc.,.
This is what you can do about it: never let them know that they have pushed your buttons. The more you react, the more they will act.
And erase yourself from any category that labels you as a victim or a participant in their mind games. If you stop perceiving yourself as an
emo then there is no list of separation to add
your name to. Try simply being yourself; a person..
and not an emo or an emo person. You can do it,
I have complete confidence in you. Here's wishing you much love, much peace and much happiness. Ciao.

I guess it's because the people who dress all in black, look like they don't want anything to do with people. They also looked depressed and scary.
I guess society isn't smart enough to know that these people are just trying to make a difference...however, acting like an Emo just get's negative attention.
I don't hate them, I just want to know why they look so sad...that's all.
And as for the part about people thinking they're better than other people? Human's are competitive. Some feel they need to trample on others to make themselves higher. All I know is that one day, karma will make up for it.

I really don't think people care about everything "emo" as much as you claim they do. I don't know about anyone else, but when I am going to sleep at night I am not having visions of emo kids dancing through my head. I think emo kids want everyone to not like them so they have something to cry about.

Its just funny to see people dressed strangely, its like if you saw a guy wearing his underpants on the outside of his jeans, you have to make fun of him
+emo do have a rep for being a depressing and gay bunch, its as if they wear all the geer so they would stand out because their personality usually dont stand out
Anyway, I dont have a prob with emo, but i really dont see how someone can wear all that junk and not expect a little play ground mentality but I admire that they have the guts to stand out at least in a visual way

I don't see any reason to hate emo people. I appreciate variety in people, and if someone really likes that style and subculture, then it's good. The world would be boring if everyone was the same.
Probably people treat them badly because they think they're just trying to rebel or get attention, and don't really understand what the subculture means. Being more sensitive to emotional things is a positive attribute, and the world would probably be better if more people were like you.

I think that most people just think emo kids are wierd. Or they're scared of them. Personally I just don't understand why emo's are so dark and depressed and love cutting themselves. People don't like being around people that ooze darkness.

I dont call myself or anyone/thing else 'emo'.
But the stereotype I get from the music I liten to is 'emo', because thats supposedly what my fav bands are.
Which reminds me....
I ws at lunch, and this dude was playing with a lighter, so people started callinc him a fire addict...I had to correct them, Its Pyro maniac! Then this other guy was like, I was pyro for a week. Then I was goth for awhile, then I was emo for a few days. I was like "you cant be something for a little while, you are or arent!"Then he siad something about how he wasnt really emo, because he didnt cut...another label for supposed 'emos', cutting. Then he said he just dressed like it, and listened to the music..So we asked him what he listend to, he said Slipknot. Yeah we were like "slipknot is 'emo' since WHEN!?" Then my sorta-friend siad that 'emo' is My Chemical Romance. whatever. Thats my band! I dont care...Then they started calling MCR f*gs. One dude was trying to stick up for them without actually sticking up for them "well their not gay...they just wear makeup, and are in touch with their feekings, and...stuff..." Yeah, so thats what I did in lunch, fought for my chemical boys! (I never eat at school btw)
Oh, and for those saying that 'emo' is the new "cool" thing...Uh, not where I'm from! Anyone or anything that could ever possibly be labled 'emo' is, including gothic, which is usually what they say when they mean 'emo'...yeah, Im from the inner city.
And they all hate on people who are like that...

i do not hate on emo people in any way shape or form. most "emo" people are really nice and sweet. just because people are like that doesn't give others the right to treat them bad.
