TheChinook tribe was almost completely wiped out in 1830 by the coming of the Europeans with their smallpox.
There are still 22 reservations in the Northwest, but I don't see the chinook listed in any of them. The Yakima appear to be the most active in the area where the Chinook once lived.

I don't know too much about the Chinook tribe, but I know some Mohawk traditions and Ojibwe. Umm, let's see. All natives are considered Anishnabe. There was only ever one god for them, known as the Great Spirit. All doors faced east for the rising sun. Tobacco was sacred and was put down every morning/night in prayer. The four sacred plants were: tobacco, sweet grass, sage, and cedar. Most spirits are guardians of people. Like wolves and eagles. You won't get too much information about sacred sites, because those are only shared with other Natives. I learned that from my dad. Sorry, we just don't give out that type of information. If you need more, I'll check back later and add anything that you might want to know.

Your right in the fact that it is oral tradition.
The other thing is that type of knowledge is rarely shared with people outside the tribe.
MOST Real skins will not discuss religion online, it's just not done.
SOME 'material culture' books make little mentions but not much. The only real way is to go out to the rez and talk with the Elders, they might tell you some things.

My people worship no one, nor can we've a god. you may might desire to comprehend our the thank you to comprehend what we are speaking approximately. As for Jehovah, I incredibly have in no way heard or met an area that claimed to have this "god". i think of your informatino grow to be incorrect in the beginning, so there is not any thank you to easily right what you had incorrect in the beginning. you will in no way come across a real community which will demonstrate their traditions, non secular ideals, or subculture with an interloper, there are too many new-agers and wanna-be's accessible, as this is we pay attention of persons like James Ray and the incident in Sedona AZ, that would desire to no longer have surpassed off, yet by way of fact of persons "enjoying indian" they get others to have faith stupid issues and persist with them like sheep, whilst the actual natives stand decrease back and snigger, i in my view would not seem too a lot into this, you will no longer get any help from genuine Natives and the fake ones would be all too happy to supply you the incorrect advice.

Get in touch with the Chinook Nation through their website. They might even have the information you are looking for there.
