Who's winning? Haliiburton.

I believe the current person who is winning is named Akbar. He is a little known pet shop owner who is wracking up points and has sat on the top ten leader board. His skills with the Wii controller are beyond comparison. Second place is a young soldier with the British Army named Charles. His claim to fame is Wii Bowling. After a recent bout of stomach problems following a bad falafel, he might slip into third place.

Really too earlyy to tell but....since al queda insists on using extreme violence to "persuade" the populace into some sort of allegiance, they are losing more possible converts daily.

By attacking the very people they need to attract, they defeat thier own purposes.

Now, if we can refine the efforts of our own military so that we seem to be much less evil than the terrorists, then we stand a small chance of "winning".

It's hard to say. Bush and Patreas are waving their pompoms with all their might, but the truth is, al qaeda murdered one of our key allies today.

This is not progress. If Iraq's government can't protect its own without US intervention, then US troops will never be able to come home without leaving a bloody civil war in their wake.

Time is on the side of the insurgents. They have all the time in the world to complete their mission. America doesn't.

It's so incredibly stupid to characterize the efforts over there as ''Winning" or "losing" or "victory". This isn't Friday night Lights. We're not talking about two high school football teams battling under the lights.

That said, The US is continuing to waste billions upon billions in Iraq, making more enemies, than we're killing / jailling...accomplishing absolutely NOTHING. And when we do, it only gets blown to hell by the nonstop civil war. If anyone is ''Losing" it's the Iraqi and US CITIZENS.

Based on information we (the citizens of the USA) receive from media and our own government, I believe an answer to your question is impossible. Now, if you would like an answer based on the media, I would have to say we have not reached the goals laid out before us before we decided to fight this battle. If I may, my sarcastic answer would be the corporations that transact with the government and sell goods and services at over inflated prices.

the corporate media says we are winning.

lindsey graham asked patraeus how much the war in iraq will cost us from here on out. patraeus said 60 to 80 body bags and $9 billion a month.

and of course the general said it would be a very long struggle.

but the check is in the mail.

Nobody wins in war, one side just doesn't lose as much.

That being said, sadly I would have to say its not Americans. We're being hurt more and more by this war. Physically, fiscally, logistically, and internationally.

Of course, I also think thats how it is right now in America, many people feel disenfranchised by the way things are being ran here. You have to really sift through a lot of junnk and ignore the other junk to truly believe our govt is OF, FOR and BY the people any longer.

The situation and resolution is a slow process. We are gaining some successes but need time. It's too bad that the democrats aren't willing to listen to a 4 Star General but are more interested in bashing him and trying to destroy his good name, even though they were 100% for him a short time ago. We cannot pull out of Iraq immediately. We need to do it gradually. We have had successes but the press is not willing to report what is truly going on. I have a nephew serving there and what he sees going on is totally different than what is being reported.

I don't think anyone except the contractors. They are making loads of money. It seems like the dems might win because of Iraq.
