well, i have to say i like the show, but your right. that's what big television shows are about. it sounds bad, but all they care about is the money. ya its "informative" but they just see dollar signs.
they are milking it for what its worth, because people love watching that kind of stuff.

It may be raising their TV ratings but I do not agree that it's become entertainment. I believe they truly are trying to help people and since they have been on TV my 15yr old son has been online looking at how many and where the sexual offenders are in our neighborhood and the surrounding ones (16 as a matter of fact) and we live in an average middle income subdivision! If it's made us get up and look them up, certainly it's made others do the same. The more aware we are, maybe the better off we will be. I still am not sure what errors NBC is supposed to have made in catching these men....the police were in on it all the time, if they didn't know the law, they should have HELPED Dateline find out what they were! I think Dateline has only tried to help and people like ME want to know where these perverts are at all times! I hope they keep on doing these stories!

As the parent of a 13 year old girl, I appreciate the series. People typically have a stereotypical perception of what they think a child predator should look like. And watching the show has really opened my eyes. I've actually cringed while watching the show. Some of the men featured seem so normal, accomplished and well adjusted. And they seem to be okay with the idea of having sex with a child.
Although I don't watch it every time it comes on, I appreciate the attention they have brought to this matter.

The thing about it that I thought was good, was that it exposed these perverts on the internet. That in turn might make some think twice....but it won't stop it. I think the show should continue, but instead of NBC getting the credit, let the police handle the sting operation, with NBC's help. Not the other way around.

Television is not about the programming; television is about the sponsors and big corporations wanting you to buy their product. Of course, NBC has the program on for ratings, but every network has shows on for ratings. When executives decide what is going on the air and what will be cancelled, it all comes down to the ratings and how much money they can charge for the advertisers to advertise. Television is nothing more than that. If they could get ratings showing people committing suicide, they would do it. Actually, they have done that.

This show opens the eyes to everysingle american who does not even conceive this awful stuff goes on. The victums of this enticement are kids that also don't get the full extent of pervs. And this is what isn't shown---I'd like kids in shaded cover to tell what it was like when they got caught caught up in this nightmare. I personally worked with street girls who got a whole lot more than they bargined for, kidnapping, locked up repeated rape. Its monumental to see the extent of damage done at this age---all for what an old mans lust.

I'm glad they do that show, Why do you even care how much money NBC brings in. We need to catch these dirt bags and if its on live TV then so be it. hmmm....this question makes me wonder why your so uncomfortable with it....Perhaps....oh never mind. If you don't like it, don't watch it =) easy as that.

It is likely to produce more problems, they have shown a bunch of predators a new tactic. I think it irresponsible.
