when we are coming to the end of a laugh do we mutter the words "oh dear" ? (usually accompanied by a big sigh)

We have been conditioned by our negatively based society to think life is serious and it is only right to laugh in certain circumstances for certain amounts of time. When the brain thinks it has exceeded the social norms of others it apologises with "oh dear" and brings you back down to the mundane average of the people around you.
Laughter gives your body a boost of energy to repair the damage caused by negative thoughts. Happy people are healthier, live longer, have more friends, more likely to achieve what they want to and with less effort than sad people. So laugh when you can or just smile to help others 2beHappy.

Well the sigh is the need for extra oxygen as laughing is quite exhausting and consumes alot of air. the oh dear Is the brains way of bringing you back to reality because quite often people feel a little foolish and out of control when they laugh. That's my opinion anyways lol

Well, the sigh comes from kind of losing your breath I think. As for saying oh dear, I don't really hear a whole lot of people do that, just my grandma really.

The sigh is to catch your breath but the oh dear part depends on what you grew up hearing. I usually say oh my goodness.
