How do you keep all the regular grass out of your monkey grass? Mine is surrounded by sidewalk and the grass doesn't even come in contact with it but grass is always somehow getting all in there. Is there some way to stop this?

Yes, I have Liriope (monkey grass) and I have the same problem. The only thing you can do is pull it out. I have to go down my rows of liriope at least twice in the season to pull out the ordinary grass. If you try to use a grass killer then you will most likely kill your ornamental grass so that is ill advised.
Hand weeding is about all you can do. Just look at it as an opportunity to meditate like I do.
Good Luck
