What's repetitive about most presidential candidates is there detachment from what you would call a "normal" life. How can a man with multiple homes including a compound in North Carolina totaling over 28,000 square feet tell anyone to conserve energy in their home? (Watch Edwards' answer to Bill Maher's question on the Democratic Candidate Mashup.) No candidate will walk the walk. The only moral values these people have are based on polling statistics.

"Any Presidential candidate" was a part of that question. Please look past your personal presidential choice and remove John Edwards from the question. Most of these answers are republicans trying to point fingers. It's said republicans are war mongers and democrats are hypocrites. Look past the parties and compare their actions with their words.

Edwards has explained that he considered building a small house, but because his wife's lifespan is possibly severely limited due to her cancer, they wanted to live a comfortable life while they could.

While I would certainly have preferred that they build the smaller house anyway, I think that's a reasonable justification for building a large home.

Personally I don't think it particularly matters. Certainly it would be good if our officials set a good example, but more important is that they have good environmental policies on which they'll follow through.

People keep talking about Bush's ranch being more environmentally friendly than Gore's home, but so what? Bush has quite possibly been the worst environmental president in US history. He's done an immense amount of damage to the environment, while Gore has spread awareness about the problem of global warming.

Is Gore a hypocrite for having a big house? Yeah, that's a valid argument. But he's done a ton to protect the environment overall, while Bush has done a ton to harm it.

I don't see him working out. First of all, he couldn't deliver North Carolina to Kerry in 2004, so it is questionable how much strength he ads to a ticket. Second, it would be really unusual to have the same VP from a losing prior ticket on the ballot again as VP. Just seems like yesterday's stale bread. I also hear that he does not like Hillary. I'm not sure how he and Obama get along. I realize a VP and Pres don't have to like each other - Kennedy and Johnson supposedly despised each other - but it is an issue.

It is nothing but pandering to the ignorant that believe anything you say. Anybody who thinks that the estimated .5 degrees of man-made global warming thus far means the destruction of the planet will believe whatever you say.

Its a case of do as I say not do as you see.

They're rich people so they are invested in the carbon trading markets and making money on the guilt buyers (the common people).

Anyway any time you see a politicians mouth moving you know they're lying.

How true! They speak of the struggles of the American people but what does that really mean to them? It certainly isn't the reality I and the vast majority of people in this country face everyday.
