I recently (yesterday) updated my DSL connection from Verizon-Yahoo from the standard 768 kbs to 3Mbps speed. But now when I test some ports I have forwarded via my modem, they aren't open. I forwarded another port to see if it made a difference and it didn't. All firewalls and antivirus programs were off during the test. What's causing this?

Definitely check your computer's IP address (most routers don't need to know your WAN address in order to forward traffic, just the destination IP on your internal network- if that changes because you reset or powered off the router, your forwarding stops working)

What ports were you forwarding? Some ISPs block traffic by default on ports than are commonly abused (Torrent, etc) - perhaps at this higher speed you're hitting new security measures, and you need to tell them to allow traffic on those ports.

Check that your IP address has not changed, it normally does on this kind of upgrade.
