What are your kids dressing up as this year, and will it be a store bought costume, or are you "crafty" enough to go with a home-made one? The year I went 'home-made', those costumes won 1st place at our community Halloween party!!

My daughter wants to be a Mummy & I'll be making that one. My son wants to be a green army dude so we'll hit the military surplus stores for those things. For the mummy, a flesh colored body suit & tights as the base. Dye cheesecloth strips in tea, let them soak. Make a "jeweled" breastplate from craft foam & fake jewels, sequins, glitter glue. Make a crown out of the same stuff, staple a plastic snake on the front. Wrap the cheesecloth strips just as you would wrap a mummy - the tea makes them brown stained & crumbly looking. Add some spanish moss for more "tomb dirt"! Heavy eye makeup over the top of the bandage on the face.
They've been everything - some homemade, some bought.
Zorro, Davy Crockett, vampire queen, spider witch, etc.

I can piece together all kinds of things from old costumes, but I can't sew anything more complicated than buttons. I bought my toddler's costume, a lady bug fairy. My son might still be able to wear what he did last year, if not we'll probably take him shopping. It was a very comfortable red and gold mesh 'knight' costume.

the place The Wild issues Are would be released purely in the previous Halloween. you will could make each and every thing because no costumes are obtainable in shops, yet a pair Wild issues and the toddler in a jumpsuit as Max would be fairly amazing.
