My kids are grown now but when they were little, I used to hand out the treats at the door and my wife would take the boys trick-or-treating. She always dress up and I usually wore make up or a mask as handed out treats.

Now my wife takes the grandkids out in the afternoon until their parents come home. She still dresses up. It is fun to share the spirit with the kids.

We dress up to give out candy. Our trick or treat times are from 1-4pm on the Sunday preceding Halloween and only once did we see a mother dressed up. Several teens dressed up and brought their younger siblings along. I think it would be fun, and be sure to bring your treat bag along.

I do every year. I stay at the house now giving out the candy, my son goes with a group of buddies in the neighborhood. I decorate the front porch and dress up, this year I'll be a cowgirl if it's cool enough. Suede chaps, fringe suede jacket , jeans and boots. Oh yeah, and the hat! Have fun with it!

I don't have kids yet - one on the way - but I still dress up every year...we have a party with a bunch of our friends and give out prizes to the best costumes.
We are LDS/Mormon so the costumes don't get too out of hand! It's really fun.

Our dog even wears a costume and goes trick-or-treating. Luckily we have a very pet friendly neighborhood. What's halloween without dressing up?

Every year! Even before I had kids, I would dress up to pass out the candy.

My son's favorite costume for me was when I dressed up like a giant spider (big round body with spidy legs and big eyes). I put smaller spiders on it and called myself "Spider Mom". : )
