I have no idea. I think denial, ignorance, and erroneous rationalization play roles. Some people make blanket assumptions that may be correct but are not correct when applied to the majority of people. Too many people don't seem to look at the data and available evidence. I am a huge proponent of improving our quality of education and making it more accessible to more people. That will raise our quality of life and keep progress continuing. We seem to be on a dangerous road. There is evidence to suggest this. Of course there has been doom and gloom before. But I do believe it might be different this time. It certainly is worth looking into further. The Dems would not sit back and do nothing. That's usually what the Repubs do unless it involves going to war because they love going to war. The Dems would be working on diplomatic relations and trying to avoid war. They are tough but they are smart too. I think the Repubs have caused a lot of problems for us. But of course it's hard to back up a statement like this because so much is unknown. I see the Dems being more intellectual and the Repubs being intellectually lazy. I think the Repubs just want to kick back and relax. They want to drink in the power and the ego trips and help their buddies. The Dems seem to care about what they are doing and have a higher purpose. Of course I am supremely disappointed in the Dems now. Both parties stink. Dennis Kucinich is my choice for President. I am a hardworking and taxpaying citizen. I am also a student and a volunteer. I wear many hats.

I'm not sure what decisions you mean. If you were president and an entire society and culture was being tortured and oppressed by a dictator, and he said "your next" and refused to obey deadlines and restrictions what would you have done. If you were president and someone attacked and killed thousands of people on US soil, what would you have done? Would you just say, oh well, we will just sit tight and see what happens? Hell no! We are the most powerful and free nation in the world for a reason. Strong presidents, and even stonger military. When your the one actually making the decisions I think you would have a different point of view. What if he did nothing. I can guarantee you that the left wing extremeists would be dragging him over the coals screaming that we should have gone to war. Get a clue and quit listening to the media.

George Bush's decisions are and were not disastrous! Take for example Iraq almost every Democrat was in favor of our military involvement there. In fact they voted to send our troops there. Hillary Clinton herself at the beginning of the war even said her husband's administration found sufficient evidence to invade. She also said there was sufficient evidence of weapons of mass destruction there and not only by the Bush administration but by outside sources close to Hillary and Bill Clinton. The fact is it's the Liberal democrats who have been all over the board on every single issue there is. Look at what the Democrats have accomplished in Congress absolutely nothing besides minimum wage increases and even that didn't go as planned for them. The real disastrous decision is the decisions that Democrats in high places have made. Our so called leaders such as Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed, Chuck Schumer, Barney Frank and the others have directly undermined our ability to effectively fight , "OUR" war, in Iraq by diminishing our purpose there and affecting our troop moral by slow-rolling funding for them and etc. In my book and according to our Constitution some of the behavior these politicians are engaging in is border-line treasonous.

Uncle Pennybags, on your checklist: no one ever complained approximately #4. Bush did no longer do #5, yet Obama campaigned asserting he would. (after initially going into the conflict, which virtually all of us, liberal and conservative agreed with, Bush grew to become into way too susceptible in Afghanistan, based too heavily on interior sight mercenaries who enable Mullah Omar get away from Kandahar and then we did no longer have adequate troops to embody Tora Bora, letting Bin encumbered get away into Pakistan, then Bush pulled out troops to start an pointless conflict in Iraq.) different than those 2, many liberals have been heavily intense of Obama for #a million, 2, and 3, between many different issues.

Disastrous in what sense? If you're talking about the war in Iraq, that was one decision, and Congress supported him on it.
Democrats talk about doing things (Regime Change For Iraq was the Policy of the Clinton Administration, but he was too busy hiding cigars and blue dresses to actually do anything about it) while Republicans do things.

Easy, just like you completely ignore the disastrous non-decisions made by Clinton when it came to terrorism.

Well it would be very unlikely if the population did dis-agree to do anything about it.
The governments just seem to do what every they like, they make a decision and that's it... There is no changing their minds.
It's about time the leaders of our countries actually lived in the real world for once.

My time machine is broken so I can't go back in time to fix it.
My point is, maybe things are not turning out the way we hoped but there's nothing we can do about past decisions. All we can do it try to make the situation better in the future.

I believe that some continue to stand by him because they think otherwise they will be unpatriotic and going against their country, which is not the case. Democracy is all about questioning the government, protesting, and speaking out against what is not right. The foundation of the country depended on the founding fathers questioning and refusing to accept the injustices that were being imposed on them. Most educated americans understand this, but others do not.
